  The MoonRanger spacecraft were launched on the Atlas-Agena B rocket. Ranger 7 arrived at the Moon on July 31, and began taking photos of the lunar surface. The craft sent 4,308 photos back to Earth before impacting near the equator at Mare Cognitum.
