  12-pounder Napoleon - Civil War Cannon Developed in France in 1853, the 12-pounder Napoleon Model 1857 was the primary cannon used by both the Northern and Southern armies in the American Civil War. The Napoleon was capable of firing shells, balls or canisters and was favored for its versatile firing capability, its power and reliability and its safety. This 12-caliber cannon was cast in bronze and is recognizable for its trademark muzzle swell.
This replica has been authentically reproduced in 1:6 scale from US Ordnance Dept. blueprints. It is cast in high-quality, heavy-weight polystone and real metal parts. All gun implements are removable to allow maximum display flexibility. The rifle barrel and wheels are also movable.
